Mount Zion
But what you have come to is Mount Zion and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem where the millions of angels have gathered for the festival with the whole Church of first-born sons, enrolled as citizens of heaven. (Heb. 12,22-23)
Another hill of Jerusalem where so many places gathered to remember the last day of Jesus' Passion. In this first century it was the residential area of the aristocratic class of Jerusalem. In this Mount we recall the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples and his first trial at the House of Caiaphas. Besides, Christians had venerated from ancient times the place where Virgin Mary passed away. The sanctuary is called today the DORMITION Abbey.
There is no doubt that the Lord had come up to this mount in more than one occasion. He knew a house where he sent one his disciples to prepare the last supper. You'll be able to follow his steps on those part of the mount and see him at the House of Caiaphas submitted to a humiliated interrogation by the members of the Sanhedrin.
