Sea of Galilee
As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew......he said to them: "Come after me and I will make you fishers of people. (Mt. 18-19)
Called also Lake of Tiberias, the Kinnereth, the Kinar, Ginessareth (the Greek name). It lies within the great Jordan Valley depression, alimented by the water of River Jordan and other small rivers and tributaries. It is and it has been the life vain of Lower Galilee that gave jobs to its inhabitants in fishing and agriculture. Herods Antipas built his new capital Tiberias attracted by the beauty of the lake and its calm waters.
Jesus found in this region the proper place to start his ministry, first by choosing his first disciples and then by dwelling in a city near its shores.
Our programs include a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee so that you can see with the eyes of the Lord the same scenes, places and cities that He Himself saw.
